Job Description

DataPath, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to staff the position of SQL Server Database Administrator.

The SQL Database Administrator is responsible for critical aspects of database administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup and recovery in managing clusters of SQL servers at any given time.

Enterprise experience is required in cloning of data from production to test, database and application optimization including performance turning, query optimization and support-ability.

The Database Administrator is responsible for working with product operations, the software development team and product management group to share in responsibilities for architecture, database standards and meeting product service levels. The goal of this interdepartmental collaboration is to create a high level of customer satisfaction by assuring the quality, stability, and performance of the DataPath software product infrastructure and offerings.

The SQL Server Database Administrator position is located at DataPath, Inc. Corporate headquarters in Little Rock, AR and does not permit a remote residency option.

Desired Skills and Experience

Education:

Bachelor or advanced degree in an Information Technology discipline, CIS, computer sciences or information technology administration.

Experience: 

  • 6 plus years of experience of Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience
  • Experience with Always ON, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Microsoft Windows Clustering; Performance Tuning; Backup & Recovery
  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell, C-Sharp etc.) language is desirable
  • Up to date knowledge on latest Microsoft SQL product upgrades and new features
  • Database security and best practices
  • High Availability experience
  • Clustering and mirror services
  • Experience with Redgate SQL Server Tools
  • Experience with Idera  Monitoring & Performance Tools

Skills:

The SQL Server Database Administrator must have demonstrable experience with large databases; SQL Server performance tuning; strong skills in database performance analysis and tuning; reporting; training; programming; calculating; problem solving; reasoning; performing preventive maintenance; working with computer operating systems and networking hardware; team player with strong communication skills.
